Microchipping

Losing a pet is never something we want to talk about but according to Petfinder (powered by Purina), 1 in 3 pets go missing in their lifetime. There are measures we can take to decrease these chances and increase the likelihood that we find them. One of these measures is microchipping. Microchipping is the insertion of a permanent implant that consists of a unique ID number. This grain of rice sized chip, is typically located between the pet's shoulder blades and can be identified with a microchip scanner. Most shelters and veterinary establishments carry a scanner to identify missing pets.

The American Kennel Club (AKC) Reunite microchip, as a member of the AAHA Pet Microchip Lookup, enrolls any branch of microchip. This allows us to contact any emergency numbers and information about the pet that is associated with the ID number.
